The Jeep is looking good! I have the same problem with the tank, I’ll have to keep an eye on what you figure out. I had my body spaced up 1-1/2” today and there was definitely an issue with the pedals through the floor.

I set my tank up so I could lower it from under w/o needing to pull the tub. I think I can easily lower it about 1.5" or so with some simple re-fab.

Looking at the bottom of the shackles, from the bottom of the tank skid, is about 2 inches. Going to lower the tank and skid down two inches. Will find some scrap tomorrow to cover the distance.

That is going to be amazing, love the color scheme. Is the tub in it's final location front to back? Maybe it's the angle of the pic but the rear tires look slightly forward in the opening.

Color is just the grayish 2k epoxy primer that is waiting for the gallon of spruce tip green i have covered in ash from the mendocino complex and the redding fires...

I kind of like it, butmore to come.

As to the location, i have thought the same and wondered if i had the springs backwards.

Oh, I didn't realize it was awaiting spruce tip green. I like the 2k primer color tho :).

Is the center pin on the springs not centered? For some reason I was assuming it was centered like the YJ springs are

Not sure. These are the originals that came with the jeep.

I know I need to get longer center pins as they're just barely good enough (as in, one good whack, and they'll probably move).

Decided to make some fluff for the jeep today.

I still need to lower the front of the gas tank, the back is where it has to be to clear the filler spout.

    Eye candy imo:

Might be. I certainly cant be the first to make this up.

Bought some dented tubing from a scrap pile. It is 1/8” wall.

Found some 90* brackets on a shelf for about $6 each.

Found a hitch on the shelf for about $15 iirc

Had some 1/2” square in my scrap bucket i cut from another project for the safety chain hangers.

Flat steel capping the ends from a little square of scrap.

Remembered to drill a small hole to let the air out of the tube as i sealed it up (probably extra cautious, idk).

Tacked it, checked fittment, and then fired up both my torch and the little mig.

Have some quarter plate i may reinforce between the frame on the back side, when and if i add pulling points for shackles

Dont envision towing anything heavy at this point.

Looking at the A to Z large size kit for making the spare carrier i am thinking of. May be later. Idk yet.

Still need to cut in a 6-pole plug for trailer wiring before i paint it and to decide if i want a couple small LED work/ backup lights in the bumper for same reason.

I think we all have about the same bumper. I made a low spot in the middle of mine bit otherwise identical to Dane's.

Nows the time before it's all buttoned up. I'm planning a huge bumper creep project this winter, swing out with all the accoutrements.

Hey Dane, does it seem possible to mount this to the underside of the frame? Considering this option but I already have my frame boxed.

I think i mocked it that way first and something didnt feel / look right with it.

What if you bring a tab off the frame to mount it on?

OK, I think the mounting part of the woes are what they are.

The aluminum cast bracket is off my smog pump that was removed, so hey there's that.

Separate set of mounts came today, really good ones, I think they're re-pops I picked up off ebay.

I may be massaging the fender in the future. I'd like it to be clocked just a little higher, but then other things start getting in the way of the loop around the inner-crank pulley.

    here's a loose-bolt mockup.
