Manifold Question

    have a m38 with a 231 OF with a dauntless manifold. behind the carb is a 1/8 tube connecting the right and left banks. whats the purpose for it? can I just plug them both off?

    • Just plug both of the hose barbs, or remove either or both fittings and use a pipe plug to block them off. Do you have a vacuum line to your distributor? Both these taps are direct manifold vacuum, and your hose is essentially plugging them both. These taps were likely for emissions controls originally.

    yes have the vacuum advance on the front of carb. wanted to plug them just making sure there wasn't an obvious reason not to.

    Yep that small metal tube vacuum went to the vacuum wipers.
