Is Your V6 Driver Side Valve Cover Crazy Close To Firewall

    My driver side V6 valve cover is really really close to the firewall. The motor mounts don't look compressed or deformed but its crazy close. Is this how yours looks?

    There is actually a cut out in the firewall for the valve cover to clear

    If the Jeep came from the factory with a V6 225 the firewall in that location as Daryl mentioned above would have had a triangle shaped piece of sheet metal shaped to clear the cylinder head already installed..........most other fellows that installed V6's later just took a torch and heated up that corner area and with a large hammer shaped that corner a little.

    A cut and paste from my CJ5 built.

    Same isssue converting a 4cyl to 6cyl
    Amazed photobucket didn’t screw wth this.
    This is when I was moving so ‘bill’ is the owner of SVE in CT.. a Jeep specialty shop..
    This Jeep should be back in Rochester this winter for me to wrap up..

    Sweet thanks guys. It came from the factory with the V6 and its super close but I guess that is by design. Thanks again.
