I run 25psi in my Jeep, it helps the ride, and works good on the trails.

Over time, wear patterns will tell if the tread is rolling flat on the road.
For a faster technique, some folks say you can check the footprint by rolling over a wet floor or through some paint, etc.

I would suggest PSI in the the low 20's might be about right.

My obese CJ6 works best on road with 25 PSI in front and 23 in the rear. Off road I go to 10 PSI all around. My CJ6 is between 4100 and 4300 lbs. depending on fuel and accumulated junk.

I am running 33X12.50 on 10" wide rims at 25psi front and rear. Seems a little high so I may adjust. Where in NC are you? I am in Concord. Also dumb question but are the shims on the right way? I am running about 6 degrees positive and she runs stright as an arrow.

This next image says a lot about pressure & contact area.

I am in Shelby. Got the Jeep back from shop. I posted the alignment specs on another thread, can repost here but seems like alignment is now good. They replaced the stabilizer. Still, at 50 plus I feel a shudder like it wants to wobble more. Hmmm. Not sure what has changed that created this wobble.

I to have 32" tires and run at 25 psi with a 2" shackle and 2" spring lift and had the same type wobble issues, for me the fix was more positive axle shim 3 to 6 deg. Make sure your shims are pushing the axle forward you should have around 4-6 deg positive chaster angle, also check that your shims have the mounting hole in the middle to keep them from squeezing out.

Maybe a different interpretation..........but you want the top of the spindle leaning back to obtain positive caster........4-6 degrees in a Jeep is close.

I used an magnetic angle finder mounted on top of the knuckle with the jeep on level ground to check the caster. When I has going through the issue with my jeep, I had a well known alignment shop here in Stockton put he shim in backward and when I went to tow it home I did even make it out of the shop it was so bad, lot of misconception on early CJ caster angle.

Negative caster will flop back and forth like a trailing caster on a shopping cart.

FWIW - Put the thick part of the wedge/shim forward (assuming you have spring under set up). I went from to 0 to 5 positive using some shims from McRuff back in December - it makes a difference.

Years ago I had a problem with a car, after test at the garage, the tires were worn a little due to wheels blocked when braking.
This car was used by my son as a first training car, was my old Nissan. It was wobbling above medium speed.
I told to my son not to drive fast. And to train to use brakes, there was no ABS at this time.

Shims in right. Caster is positive 5.9 and 6.1. Last pic is from front whereas other view is from rear.

I'm not sure an alignment shop understands how to set the toe in on these old Jeeps. Outside of caster that is about all you can set.
I have never taken mine to a shop and just do it in my garage. It takes a lot of time and patience. My D27 was set at about 1/8". I did the same with the D30. No wobble and road manners are good. If the toe gets out of whack it can really mess with the ride.
From my D30 swap thread: D30 Upgrade
    Toe In
Factory 27 spec was 3/64" to 3/32" FYI
My eyes wouldn't be that great on that tape measure.....
    Caster
Just so we're on the same page.........3-5 degrees positive although 5 is fine , but also check your pinion angle up front as the pinion will go down under acceleration.........which could increase caster.
