Guys, stupid question but please note I am trying to straighten out a mess that fried about 40 years ago. Electrical guy from the neighborhood fixed it, but patched it up with scotch locks and such, left all the melted stuff under the dash, melted into other wires, etc. Anywho...

Ok, does the +coil feed come from a lug on the back of the instrument cluster that is fed from the "switched on" terminal on the ignition?. I've got two large (12 gauge?) green wires on the lug on the cluster, one goes to the key switch and the other this guy patched to the coil. Of course it starts green, goes blue, red, then back to blue(his patchwork). Is this the correct route for the coil wire? Is 12 guage good? Should the wire be green or blue? Yes I am getting an FSM but don't have it tonite :) Thanks guys

The coil does not need 12 gauge wire. Look at the distributor wire going to the coil and use that size wire, I think it would be 14 gauge. I just looked at my FSM, with two pair of glasses on, and it does look like the hot wire to the coil does come from the instrument cluster. Good Luck

Guys, thanks, I did a better search and thanks to Timgr and the "Way back machine" I found a real good, color coded wiring diagram that even I can understand. It was on the old site. Will try to attach it shortly. I am worse with computers than I am with electronics
