Seat Frame Verifacation Help

I am building this '55 and I am trying to figure out what is stock and then the next generation of seat frames.
Seat frames up to '68 used springs and after '68 up to ? used a foam seat which bolted to a next generation seat frame. I believe the pic of frames setting in jeep are correct for a '55. I believe the pic of seats on floor are the next generation seats. The pic on floor contains 2 driver frames and the passenger seat frame. The two driver's seat frames on floor position the driver's seat in different lateral (left/right) spots. Please confirm my thoughts or straighten me out.

The '55 type one-piece frames are apparently quite hard to find, somewhat 'desirable' in that respect. Take care of them!

For a replacement, I found Smittybilt low-backs to be a near match, inexpensive, and very comfortable.
Their butt cushion is thick and they need to be mounted as low as possible, so I made custom mounts that look like the OEM.

I like that Pete that might just be my next project. I use lowback seats from an 80s dodge cargo van they look the part but just a bit too thick on the bottom.
Also I have a 2/3 bench passenger lower frame if anyone ever needs one.

 

I can't comment regarding the drivers side frames about which years had what "offset", though I do have a correct lower frame for the Tuxedo Park 60/40 seat with a sliding track. The mounting frame immediately in the foreground appears to be the same used on the Tux. This frame uses two separate rear brackets to join it to the floor.
I can state the passenger side started using the single frame pictured on the garage floor starting with the '66 model year. This is the one that has the outer leg that mounts to the door opening.
The picture of the frames in place in the Jeep are correct for the earliest Willys CJ5's. This type mounting, hinged directly on the toolbox, continued up through '65. Note the passenger side has a fixed back and the drivers side has no separate mounting frame. I believe the passemger side was improved around '62 to a hinged back, making the seat now "fold and tumble" making access to both the tool box and rear bed much easier. I don't know when the drivers side got a mounting frame.
The seats from '55 through '65 used the springs as shown in the photo. In '66 with the "new" hinge bar mount (above the toolbox), Kaiser also changed to molded foam type seats. Most, if not all the aftermarket lowback seats are molded foam.

Thanks for the info. This is the first cj5 project for me and it was disassembled down to bear frame. I also have six sets of seat
to try and figure out. Most are for my cj2a project---only one set for '55 type seats---too bad huh!
