If Rotella contains zinc. The guy at the machine shop who worked on my engine recommended either/or. I bought a case of the Zddp on Amazon and just add one with every oil change, that way I can just use regular 10W-30.

Has anyone used Brad Penn? Penn Grade 1 has 1500 ppm of zinc and 1410 ppm of phosphorous.

I had to do a lot of googling for tech information after reading all your different opinions on engine oil. I decided afterwards to stay with my earlier choice of 10W-30 synthetic. It's in my recent restoration of my 66 F134. Additionally, I've been periodically adding Lucas oil treatment, believing it'll help the lubing as I bring the engine back to life. On the other hand, that product is so thick, probably sae 80 (no information that I can find), I have to wonder if it helps.

See if you can find "Brad Penn" . It is a high ZDDP oil that hot rodders use in flat tappet motors. Green colored Pennsylvania oil. Check your local speed shop
30 or 40 wt. They also make a break in oil

Quaker states Defy high mileage oil in 10w-30 is a synthetic blend with 1221ppm zinc in it. It's what's in my v6 now.

I run Valvoline racing for the zinc/zddp and a Wix or Baldwin filter in my V6.

I like NAPA/Wix filters. I ran stock 10W40/10W30 in my F134. I ran Rotella in my BMW.

I think any brand should be fine, just change it on a regular basis. My Honda CRX ran 190K miles running all kinds of brands. I just kept the same weight and certification. In the end a little old lady driving back from cataract surgery killed the car, not the Walmart oil.
