Does anyone know if the MTS brand gas cap for underseat tanks is just a rebranded Omix? I lost mine the other day so I need a replacement. The Omix one is cheaper but if the MTS cap is higher quality I'll buy that one. Thanks

I have a part number at home if you want to get it a local parts store. I think it was from Stant. Want me to check?

The stainless Stant cap fits well, just be sure to get the vented version. The original Tux caps were chrome and made by Eaton. The painted version of the Eaton caps come up frequently on eBay, sometimes labelled Ford.

My 58 has what I believe to be the original factory cap but the gasket inside is ripped. Other than trying to make my own, are replacements available?

This is the style of cap that I am talking about. My old one looked just like this, and the cap on my Tux looks like this but chrome.

The cap pictured looks like an Omix-Ida knock-off of the original Eaton cap. The shape is very similar. Check the lock tab on your Tux cap and you should see the Eaton name stamped on it.

Be careful with those new chrome caps. This was discussed before and I'm not a fan. That replacement black one has been great.

The omix cap came in the mail today. The box actually says "non-vented" but I think its wrong. It looks like the original, but feels pretty cheap. I'll report back later on how it works.
