I have the 750x and got it for about 75 bucks new with case. I wore out one diamond wheel and am on second one. It does sharpen to 3/4 drill and does a pretty good job. By no means perfect but for 75 bucks it was well worth it for the hundreds of drills I have sharpened with it.

Cal-Van double flare tool. I'd asked for recommendations here and I believe Tim suggested this one. Does much better than my old K-D tools flare. And it does bubble flares too.

BTW, the sample flare in the picture is NiCopp tubing.... so easy to work with.

What did that set you back, Joe........if you don't mind my asking. Come with several different size dies or just the one? looks well made for sure.

x2. I need a flaring tool for brake lines, fuel lines, etc. All I found was cheap crap that does not work and very nice, very expensive $300 ones.

I bought Model 345 Standard Flaring Tools - RIDGID Professional Tools.
The reviews were more positive when I purchased it. That is no longer the case. It has not made my life making flares easy. I went to NiCopp tube and it helped a bit, but still makes off center flares if you don't rotate the tube in the clamp 180 degrees after the initial flare.

I would not recommend this tool and i would definitely not buy it again.

It's $46.45 at tooldiscounter.com for the complete set. Cal Van 165 Fuel Line Flaring - Fuel System Tools

Chris, I did look at the Ridgid tool. Thought that would be good as their brand has always been of good quality. But the reviews were very negative.

Ridgid used to be a great name for professional tools, before they went all "consumer."

Here's a nice comparison of the two styles-

I've had all the same issues this guy mentions.

EDIT- before buying you might want to read the reviews on Amazon-.

After watching the video, the Cal-Van tool looks much better. And way less than the one at Eastwood or other like it for close to $300. I don't mind the time as long as they make good flairs. Wonder if the cal-van flair is as good as the eastwood flaring and the real difference is time and ease of use.

I picked this up the other day after watching the tire guy at Costco. They have a fancy machine on the wall that you set the PSI to and it shuts of when reached. Of course this doesn't do that, but it's almost as good of a time saver as the Costco machine. I don't know why I didn't look for one of these earlier? Love it!

For less than the cost of a pre-bent brake line kit, I was able to purchase Eastwoods Professional Flaring Tool, 25 feet of 3/16" brake line and all the fittings.

Very nice tool that easily creates consistent flares (several varieties) and includes dies for most common sized lines.

The bending/fitting of the lines takes some getting used to, but getting fairly proficient just using their bending plier tool.

New toy/tool and shouldn't have to buy brake or fuel lines again...win.

Do you or anyone else have one they like? I've heard the Craftsman branded one has seen better days, the older ones are better the newer, not so much but these have to be fairly durable since they are pounded on with a hammer.
