Trying To Identify My New Jeep Cj5

Looks nice. The number on your frame mightrequire a wire brush to find. I had my frame sandblasted and that is how i found it, then when i painted the frame it kinds of hid it again (very faint).

 

Looks to be in good shape for being in the rust belt......

 

The original color of the firewall does appear to be yellow. The number I'm finding on the rear of the engine (might not be the one you are asking for) is B 1369905-2M. Thanks for the help!

 

Found it today after doing some more searching, the number seems to be consistent with a 1958 build. Can I use this number to somehow found out the original paint color and some other information?

 

I haven't found that same number, but it is in the range used on the Buick 225 odd-fire. The close numbers I have are 1349430, 1381623 and 1396314.
Your light yellow color could be Arena Yellow used from 1958 -1961, or Prairie Gold (actually a light yellow) used from 1965- 1971. Both these colors are very close (similar) to each other.

A one-barrel manifold from a Buick passenger car 225 ca 1963 will fit on the Jeep 225. The block is Jeep, according to Joel's document.

Nice Jeep. When I bought my 56 I had no idea what I was looking at. Always wanted an older Jeep but never did any research. Definitely an impulse buy for me. Mine also has the newer windshield, different power plant, and a few cosmetic changes. Keeping an early CJ5 completely stock doesn't seem to be very popular except in the rare models. It looks to me like you got the best of both worlds - upgraded steering, upgraded power, safer windshield, and the coolness of driving an early CJ.
