I know there's lots on this, many different ways of dealing with problem. I would like to hear from some one that's taken care of problem, an not seen any ill effects from what he,or she used on their top.
My top is a "Best top"its a few years old, under a car-port, never been in the rain! The door windows are off all summer, an still I have a black mold on inside, an on the outside.

I had the same problem with my old CJ-7. It was parked in the carport with no doors and a hardtop and my new blue replacement seats were covered with black mold. I used a bathroom mold and mildew remover. I think it was made by Tilex but am not 100% sure. It didn't discolor or harm the seats but I'd still try it in an inconspicuous area first.

I just dealt with mold on the seats of a car that was closed up with a leaky window seal all winter. I folded the rear seats back up and they (and the seat belts) were covered in mold.

I used Lysol disinfecting wipes. They claim to kill all mold and mildew, plus they smell nice. First pass, I cupped the wipe and lightly collected the majority of the fuzz, careful to keep as much of the spores from going airborn as possible. After that, I used wipe after wipe and scrubbed the dickens out of everything. It seemed to work OK. There are still some spots that are stained from the mold; I'm pretty sure if I kept scrubbing they would have disappeared. I just lost interest. :D

Cabelas and Bass Pro and West Marine carry a spray cleaner made for that purpose. I don't recall the brand. About same price at all three
