I'm doing some rust repairs on the '69 CJ5, and need to buy some sheet metal for the repair. Does anyone know what gauge sheetmetal they used on the tub so I can get something similar for repair?

    Thanks,

    Jim

well depends on what your working on but I say 20 gauge down to something as heavy as 16 on the bed.

I used 18 guage, but it seems like I read somewhere that the original body was 19 guage.

The 18 guage was perfect for mine.

I used 12 ga. (0.108")for my floors. heavy stuff. I wasn't going for original. I wanted heavy duty.

Look in the phone book you will find some Sheet Metal Shops in your area they will sell you what you need cheaper than home depot will.
