Heat riser valve - should also be a tube that run to the carb. Helps during cold running conditions.

Not all have the tube. I was ready to toss the thing an djust weld the holes shut on the manifold, but I was convinced by another Jeeper to get the kit and rebuilt mine. I'm glad I did. The heat riser as it is known really helps to warm up the carb in cold temps, and makes the Jeep have better manners until it gets up to temp.

Where to you get a kit to rebuild a heat raiser? None of the heat raisers on my V6's work and I could sure use faster warmups in the kind weather we been having here in New England. Twenty-four inches of snow this morning, six degrees above, it was twelve below on Thursaday morning, and wind gusts to 35 MPH. I got to go out an plow soon just to keep up before it gets too deep.

NOS places (or places they sell at like ebay) are your only chance I think. The complete valves go for big money (>$100). No companies reproduce them or the kits to my knowledge. I bought a complete NOS heat riser this past fall for $34, but that place doesn't have any more. I have not seen a single rebuild kit anywhere.

Sorry Bruce, the kit I referred to is for a 4-cylinder. Omix-ADA makes it for the L- and F-heads. Never seen one for the V6 listed.
