Dana 30 into a 70 with a v6

    The yoke on the 30 is larger than the one on the 27 I would like to run one size ujoints. Are all the front shafts the same? Can I swap a yoke on the transfer case to match the 30?

    Yes a long the yoke is 10 spline with same series of u joint

    i got one from a dana 18 with a 4 cyl. my 71 has v6 and i did the swap. if i remember right now all u-joints are the same size on both front and rear shafts.

    you will need to modify the front shaft from a dana 30 because of the added length of the 72 and up jeeps i think

    thanks ive got a few 18s around ill look for a bigger yoke. hacking the shaft is a non issue. the boy is getting exited and working on the jeep daily.
