Has anyone used the Advance Adaptors hydraulic clutch kit?

I am sick of the chain linkage. When I am all crossed up, the body pulls up far enough that when the pedal is pushed to the floor it will not disengage the clutch when I want and need to.

The Advance kit seems pretty basic... slave cylinder with a bracket that will fit up to the holes on the GM bellhousing. If anyone has measurements or a template for the bracket, I would be much obliged. And also - if anyone knows what year/model slave cylinder would work - that would be very helpful!

I'm using the Novak model. Bracket seems a little flexy, but it works real smooth. Of course mine is for the Chevy bellhousing, so probably no help. Do you have hanging pedals? Or does AA's assy. work with the floor pedals?

AA is a hanging pedal kit IIRC. I had one, never used it, sold it.

I suspect the two are very similar. I have a hanging pedal assembly sittin the garage that I have not installed yet. I was going to start with the brakes and then move on to the clutch.

I too have the GM bell housing, as I am running the Buick 225 with an SM420 tranny.

I just wanted to know how to duplicate the bracket used by Novak and AA, and what slave cylinder to buy that would mate up.

FYI Buick-Oldsmobile-Pontiac (BOP) bellhousings are different from chevy bellhousings. See the guide in the tech section.

I used the Novak kit. It requires you to purchase a clutch master cylinder for a Wrangler. I believe the directions tell you what size master cylinder to buy. (I think it is a 3/4". It just need to be the same as your slave, so it could come from any vehicle) The slave cylinder is from a Toyota which has had the casting machined. It does not matter what vehicle you get the master and slave from, as long as they are the same size bore, fit your pedals and TB fork, and can release your pressure plate. The TB fork from Novak is a GM factroy piece.

The most work was R & Ring the trans to replace the throwout bearing fork. I stiffened the slave cylinder mount by adding an extra piece. It works good and was very simple to install. Novak is good to work with also. I have hanging pedals from a newer CJ. For the price, I would buy the kit instead of spending all your time fabricating a mount and fitting everything.

If you've got hanging pedals and don't mind a little fabrication I'd go with the Wilwood style from Summit that pulls rather than pushes. I LOVE mine!
