Read several threads but can't find a definitive answer on whether WARN lockout hubs have to be removed or not to get drums off? If they have to come off, just remove the six bolts holding them on or must go thru the inside after removing Allen nuts?

Nope, you can leave them on, drum should slide off around them

On my '67 with 10" brakes the drums are swaged to the hubs, so the drum and hub have to come off as a unit. So yes, take off the 6 bolts for the hub, remove both spindle nuts, then it can come off.

The drum in many cases is pressed on to the studs and makes it a tight fit to the hub. You really need to pull it as an assembly until you know what you have.

To remove my warn hubs I had to remove the allen screws to get to a snap ring before I could remove the remainder of the locking hub assembly. Then i was able to get to the spindle or wheel hub nuts etc.

Hammering or pressing metal to shape it. In this case to tighten the stud into the drum, similar to riveting parts together.
