Two things to consider.. if you have a different linkage cam the radius of the arm pivot might be smaller or in backwards, i've seen that arm have two different radiuses and when it went from small to large it worked and vice versa it didnt. Also consider there are 2 different pressure plates for the buick V-6's and there is a definate difference in height to where the finger ends are. If you have the flatter pressure plate with the shorter (front to back) throwout you will have this problem. I've had that problem with my 67 CJ-5, luckily it only took me 30 minutes to get the tranny back out. Would be worth checking into.

Are you (Jeepnut67) suggesting that on the linkage cam, the arms should go from short to long? I have two linkage cams. One at the pedal and one just south of it, off the side of the transfer case.

Currently, the way it is installed, they can't go small to large. They will hit the body. The linkage is the exact same as it was 4 years ago. I'll try to swap it and see if things change.

    msbweiland,
Do you have any pictures of your setup? I have the swinging pedal setup in my jeep from a 1977 CJ7, but I only use the brake pedal. I still use the stock Willys clutch pedal. I may be able to get the other CJ7 pedal back in there though. If I can, I don't know how to get a rod out the firewall, let alone know if there will be enough travel.

    Thanks,
    Dave

I"ll try and remember to get some pics of the setup after I finish getting my tranny back in. Remind me if you don't see anything by Monday.

Do you happen to have a body lift installed? Maybe bad body mounts? Either of these 2 cases won't allow enough pedal travel through the floor to disengage the clutch. Try making the clutch pedal rod longer. Alternatively, you could make the ear on the z-bar that goes to the clutch fork longer. This will increase the ratio of pedal to fork movement. I did this to mine to get it to work correctly with the smallblock Chevy. Good luck

No Body lift, and none seem to be damaged or broken. I would like to make the ear on the Z-Bar longer, but I have no room. The body is about to touch it already.

    Thanks,
    Dave
