Hi been working on my 1971 dana 27 with 3.73 gears. Suspect it was replaced at sometime. The pinion spline count I have is 26 or 27 count. Thought i read somewhere they were 10 or 19 spline stock from factory. It does have the small v-6 yoke on it . What is stock from factory? Thanks Gord

The spline count on the pinion gear, and it's yoke, is 27 on a Dana 27 front axle. Not sure about the Dana 25.

The 10 or 19 spline you are referring are axle shaft spline counts. The rear Dana 44 came with 10, 19 and 30 spline axle shafts (splines at the inside end of the shaft). Don't know about earlier Dana 41.

The front axle shafts in our old jeeps have 10 splines at the hub. The intermediates, with the dana 30, have 27 splines out there, I believe. I never counted the splines at the inside of front axle shafts.

Dana 41 and early 44 10 spline axles. Later 44 19 spline then eventually 30 spline. CJ 25 and 27's were 10 spline inner and outers. 27 had 26 spline pinion yoke. 25's, 41's, and tapered axle 44's had 10 spline iirc yokes. Could be 6 spline but 10 comes to mind. Flanged 44's and 30's typically had 26 spline yokes like the 27 but the yoke depth was different and the do not interchange correctly
