    Re: New Jeep!

I painted the wheels that came on it, and put some new LT235/75R15 Nankang Mud Star tires on it. The extra crap that was welded to the windshield frame is all ground off, repaired, all the extra holes in the frame are filled and ground smooth, new inner and cowl gaskets installed. Waiting for the soft top to get here.

Looks good, if you are getting a soft top. We are going to want more pictures and a build thread of progress :)

    Re: New Jeep!

Sort top will be here tomorrow. I've also replaced a cracked hub on the LR, and will replace a slightly bent axle shaft, and hub/ seal on the RR this weekend. I also installed some dual filament sockets on the front so I can run turn signals. Carb kit and full tune up parts on the way as well.

X2 - can you move this thead under the build section so it does not get pruned?

    Updates are looking good.

After seeing pics of your last '5, I'm looking forward to following this one.

Looking good bud. Keep 'er clean (in appearance) like usual. Got me wanting a flattie again. Everything here is swiss cheese, though.

This one will stay much closer to stock than my CJ5. Soft top goes on tomorrow so I can start driving it again. I still need wipers.

I really hate the color...Although it was originally Emerald green which isn't too far from a gloss version of olive drab.

    Looks great!

What other near-term plans do you have for it?

Wipers, re-wire the lights, turn signals...I've already replace the single filament sockets in the front with dual filament sockets and have a turn signal switch...I have a little more work to do on the rear axle, have the parts. Paint the rear tire carrier and put it back on. Rebuild carb, full tune up, have those parts too.But mostly, drive it!

Really looks good. I like the way the white wheels came out. Enjoy.

A little progress...RR axle shaft and bearing replaced, both rear hubs and seals, rear brake lines. Also replaced the shift boots and the bent and broken clutch and brake pedals.

I found a very nice stock CJ5 front bumper, so I cut it down to the proper length for the 2A. Also installed dual filament sockets in the front markers so I can install turn signals, and made hood blocks to factory specs out of oak.

Yes, I put blue LED's behind the grill. All of our vehicles have them, and have for near 20 years.

Hope to do the dual filament sockets in the '47 truck one day. How is it done?

I drilled out the holes for the single sockets to 3/4" and put some universal sockets in from the parts store.
