I will be gone for a few days, like I said, next moth will begin the hardcore, resto.

I will post pics of the repairs and such as I go along.

Want to see how it works out. Would love to see some half cabs (want canvas) that fit around the roll cage.

I too, love the half cabs....

Ok not to much to update on, been real tied down with the new growing season coming( well started seeds and taking clones).

Got most all of the top coat of paint stripped down to the primer.

All the seams and rust spots stripped to bare metal. Treated the whole cab with a rust stop.Thats why it looks black.

Not real good lighting in the garage, and its rainy today, so its dark. The carbs, and headers are off ATM, so i cant pull it outside to get good pics.
So i wont bore you with a bunch of bad pics, just some teasers :)

I traded my cage I built, before I got the half cab, for a dana 18 to muncie m21 adapter , and a tubing bender, that a friend had. He bought the tubing bender, to build a cage and was more then he could do.So when he asked me to help him,I said I will do one better , Lets trade. :) He said cool. The adapter he had in a flattie behind a 283 stroker, he now is a crawler, and not so much mud pits anymore.

So Now I am trading, the chain drive, and some $cash, to a crawler friend He knows for a ,nice, very nice, Miller syncrowave 350, that his dad has, and only used like 20 times, to help build his crawler. Which I am so excited about. I will post pics when I get it.

Any how here are some pics

I will take better pics of it when I can get around it better.

I will also take pics of the cage as I build it, with the new tig welder.

I may start another thread for that project.

And when I build my headers. The camaro headers I have , My wife could have welded the flange better, and SHe cant weld LOL.

    Latter all.

Where is a good place to get window channel kits for these old tops?

    Any universal kits out there?

Looks great. Personally, I like the flat black color it is now. There are are several different olive drab colors out there. Not sure which one that is.

The way it looks, with the fat tires, reminds of those battery operated little pulling trucks, that I played with as a kid.

    They where called stomper 4x4s

    Anyone remember those?

small update . no major body work yet still have been deciding, exactly which direction i am going.

But anyhow. Redoing the cage to fit the top.I took 1.5 inches out of the front lip of the top. and removed 2.5 inches from the bottom of the windshield. And a total of 5.5 inches out of the 2 rear side panels.I will post better pics this weekend when i start redoing the doors to match the top. Then some of the harder core body work.

Ok guys I screwed up. was cleaning photo buckets, and the pics old pics are gone.So I will update with new ones when the serious bodywork starts on the top.

    messed with the door.

You guys can move this if you want to fab forum. I am doing a 25.5 which is the real last cage and 2x4 frame.the only thing I am keeping from the old main hoops and cross bars is the main hoop.ITs bends and height are just the way i want it to set my rear tubs. Will update in a few days.

And I have a question.any one know any other tire roughly this size ?Looking for front tires.I am going with a IFS front 8.8 ford
    similar to this
