    Good morning all,
Quick question concerning early 70's rim, would it have the same bolt patter as a late 60's rim?
I'm sure that I can interchange them, just would like to confirm this.

    Thank you,

All CJs have the same bolt pattern, 5 on 5.5" circle. Is that what you are asking?

The only thing you have to watch out is hub size. Many other vehicles have the same bolt pattern, but smaller hub sizes. For example wheels off an old fold pickup share the pattern, but won't go over the front hubs (even if the donor vehicle was also 4x4).

Shouldn't be a problem from cj to cj though.

No. I think that is wrong. Ford did fit. At least up until 1975 or so. Half ton and heavy half ton with 5 lug wheels. Dodge did not fit. Same bolt patern, but the center hole was really small, like the ones on passenger cars.

And while we are at it, not all Wagon or Pickup wheels fit either. Somewhere along about '71 or '72 they went over to 6 lug wheels for the half ton stuff.

Jacoby is right, many of the Ford 1/2 ton wheels had a small center hole and would not fit the Jeep hub. There were some Dodges that didn't fit either, typically the full time 4x4 units with the front unitized bearing hubs.

Just going by personal experience here. The rims from both of my 1960 1/2 ton Ford pickups (which were 5 lugs) would bolt right onto my '47 Willys CJ2A and also onto my 1951 Willys pickup that came after. The rims from my father's 1963 1/2 ton Dodge pickup would not fit.

Most aftermarket ford rims have the larger hub and will swap to both. I can specifically account to the 1980-96 which are very common in junk yards and on the road. They are only slightly smaller, like only 3/4" in diameter. They'll usually fit a rear axle on a jeep, but won't fit over front locking hubs.

Many of those will "bolt on" the the rear but won't go all the way on. I had a friend put a couple stock ford wheels on the back of his and while you could physically bolt them on, they didn't seat onto the brake drum as they wouldn't go over the axle flange. It left the drum loose and rattling. All aftermarket 5 on 5.5 use the big hole that will fit CJ. Dodge and Ford factory wheels typically have the smaller hole that does not fit CJ. Scout uses the big hole as well.

I think RJ was asking about white wagon wheels, which were very common in the aftermarket from the '70's-on, which virtually all had the larger center holes to fit universally everything with the 5 1/2" pattern. Jeep and Ford had factory wagon wheels, and the Jeeps will fit, but maybe not the Ford as mentioned previously.
The bolt pattern for Jeeps from the 1940's though into the 1980's was 5 1/2", so that part should work for you. The center hole would need to be checked to clear both front lock-outs and rear flanges.
Also, depending on your brake drums or calipers, there could be clearance issues depending on the wheel.
