Welcome to my world. I have looked for the last year for my 1970 CJ-5 Ross steering box with the 15/16 sector shaft. The 15/16 sector shaft was not in circulation and couldn't find one anywhere. I had been talking to the crew at Kaiser Willys and they assure me they are in the process of producing them for early 2014. They should be in circulation soon. I am eagerly awaiting the sector shafts. If you can wait, they should be here soon.

If you have a V6 it is the same parts used on a M38A1. Try the military sites.

Is the M38-A1 sector shaft identical to the V6 shaft? Does anyone know the answer to a certainty?

For those looking for a replacement Ross V6 sector shaft, there is one listed on ebay that ends Sept 28. It is not mine, and I have no affiliation- just passing along the listing. See ebay #191340830163.
This is listed as part number 938194 which I believe is correct for the V6 application. Not sure if it is new or used- ask questions and do your homework! Could be new or could be well used?

The M38-A1 steering is used in the V-6. Call the vendors that sell military parts

I have been following this thread for a while and hope to finally rebuild my 1966 steering gear this winter. I have located several of these sector shafts by using the 2 part numbers938194 and 807478 (for the M38A1). My questions are:
    1.) Are these 2 interchangeable?
2.) Where can one find the sector shaft pins individually?
3.) Are the pins all the same with this and the other early CJ jeeps as I have several MB/GPW ross steering sets
    Thanks in advance
    Phillip

I confirmed that the m38a1 and cj5 66-71 sector shafts are the same by asking KaiserWillys what the difference between their part#938194k for the m38a1 and part#938194ka for the cj5 66-71 was? They replied that they were the same, just a interchange number difference. FYI-They are both 5-7/8 long, 15/16 diameter, and the pins are 2" on center.
