Has anyone done this swap? I picked up a Buford on trade not long ago and want to do the swap, but have questions about clutch/flywheel interchangeability? Thoughts, concerns, random input? TIA!

Whether or not it's too much for the T14 is going to depend on how you drive it. If you have a bit of restraint on the throttle and don't get carried away with tire size, it should be ok. However, if this is something you plan on having awhile, this would be the time to upgrade the transmission also.

Thanks! I apologize and should have specified that I will be upgrading to the SM420 when I do the swap, and that's where my clutch/flywheel concerns are with the swap.

Always cheap insurance to swap out the clutch, unless you personally know how many miles are on it. A Buick 350 is very heavy in it's stock form. You can shave off a lot of weight by finding a aluminum intake and running headers. The cast iron intake and exhaust manifolds alone weigh over 100 pounds.

Daryl, I absolutely agree! What I need to know is which clutch and flywheel will work I guess. I assume the same clutch for the v6 would work but not sure about the flywheel? And I'm absolutely planning on headers...the intake will be a little further down the road, but still the plan.

The 225 flywheel is balanced for the odd-fire V6. Need to get a V8 flywheel and might as well go to an 11" clutch if you can.

Ok, so I got my standard flywheel for the Buford, now....do I use a Buick clutch or do I get another stock clutch?
