So I've finished replacing the barrings and seals on my transmission, (t-90A) and want to bolt it back on. The PO had used engine mounts instead of a transmission mount to attach it to the cross-member. Now that I"m about to bolt it back on I can see that nothing lines up. The plate at the bottom of the transmission is Curved up instead of flat (is it supposed to be?) and everything seems to be at an angle to the cross bar.
Does this sound right? The plate on the bottom will not fit a standard transmission mount as the holes don't line up....Is this the wrong plate?
I tried to find a stock plate and they don't even seem to be available.
Not sure how to move ahead, any advice?
    Thanks!

I believe I have figured it out. going to walcks website and comparing rubber mounts between trucks/wagons and the cj series my guess is your transmission has been transplanted out of a truck or similar full size vehicle. looking at this http://walcks4wd.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?cat=194&q=mount and comparing the pictures trucks and cj used different mounts and the one that looks like a motor mount is what the full sized vehicles used and says right in the description "used with crossmembers with 2 angled indents"

So the motor mounts style mount is correct for your crossmember and the plate that bolted to your tranny . I don't know if this would really be a problem other than not being original or correct for a cj. you could probably use it as is but im not sure since im not looking at it all bolted together.

The correct original way for a cj seems to be replace the crossmember with correct cj one and replace the metal plate that's bolted to your tranny and then you could that flat bar style mount that should be correct and you would be done.

The 51 Willys truck I use to have had the plate like which is on your t-90. The cross member on that truck had the two angled indents on it for the two transmission mounts. The 62 truck I have now does not. It has a mount similar to what you have now.

    oh dear....
Nothing with this thing is going to be easy is it?
The holes on the cross member don't line up so I guess its original to the jeep, and the base plate on transmission is from a truck? I guess I'll go ahead with the engine mounts and drill a few extra holes, unless you know were I could find a new plate? I've looked around and they don't seem to be available. Will I have a problem with alignment?
    Thanks for the help!!

You could buy one off ebay, craigslist, your preferred jeep vender or you could post a Want To Buy in the classifieds section on this site for the crossmember and the transmission plate. (I don't believe anyone reproduces the plate on the bottom of the t90 but there should be plenty of used out there)

I used to have spares of both those pieces on my previous parts pile before they went to the scrap yard. im sure there are plenty used around this site. I once picked up a t90a cheap only to clean all the oil and grease off to find huge crack in case, there has to be plenty of scrap t90 out there that would have a good plate on the bottom.

I believe this should be the correct plate for your t90 on ebay for $16 plus shipping http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Willys...-plate-6-/301073070205?_trksid=p2054897.l4276 walcks4wd.com claims m38a1 and cj's share the same rubber mount kit. and they both used the t90a transmission and the same engines. I am currently installing a m38a1 tranny into my 48 cj2a and both have the same plate on the bottom of both t90, so I would say as long as this ebay seller has his plate labeled correctly as m38a1 it should be exactly what you need.

    Dude! YOU ROCK!!!!
I've been looking for this part all evening and haven't found one. I just bought it! If the holes aren't quite perfect I'll modify it, but It looks perfect and it will give me the alignment I need!
Awesome! I'm in your debt sir!
    Thanks again!
