I really like that you have to fit them to the wheelwell, it looks good!

My jig saw is not powerful enough to cut the entire hole, it takes way too much effort.

I thought about this but the cost of a hole saw the right size is a bit too much. Good idea on painting the body, I will need to check that.

    Jeff,
I have a 3" hole saw that I used for the fuel filler neck and you are welcome to use it. What size do you need for the tail light bucket?
    Shipping will be nothing

    Hi Alan,
I have a crazy few days at work but will try to measure the tail light hole this week. Thanks for the offer.

I finally got around to measuring the tail light 4 1/2". I could easily get away with the 3" and just use a high speed for the remaining material.

My corners were only 1/8", but they cut like butter with a jigsaw. I bought some good quality blades for it and cut through the tub and corners at the same time.

    Hey John,
    Stay warm up there!
My old jigsaw just does not have enough power to get through 3/16". I tried and it just starts to bounce. If I don't get a hole saw I will just drill a bunch of holes, connect with the saw and then clean up with the high speed.

Jeff , the jig saw works awesome and super quick
make sure it's no just on up and down straight stroke,
mine has an adjustment to make the stroke (IDK) like oblong cut ? and that did the trick . I tried it on straight stroke and it beat me up . just get a good metal blade .I also cut tub and corners together

    Thanks for the advice Steve,
Hopefully I will be able to work on it today.

Feeling a little better and was able to drill all of the mounting holes today. Too dark out for a pic so I will get one tomorrow. Boogered 1 for the spare tire carrier but I can get it to work.

Finally had some time to get all the mounting holes drilled. I bought a bit to countersink the bolt heads. Now I just need to work on gas and taillight openings. Hopefully I can tackle that after work tomorrow.

Steve, Not yet but maybe a good idea. I'll give it a shot. Much lighter with the wheel opening removed.

Finally got some time to work on these today.

Drilled the first set of holes. Marked the gas filler opening with a center punch.
Next I opened the holes a little at a time.
I used my old saber saw to connect the dots.
Mounted with the opening for the tail light finished. My 4" high speed grinder disc did not fit in the gas filler opening, I need to hit the hardware store for something that will work.

Finally got around to finishing this project.
Rear corner with spare tire carrier, paint needs a little touch up but may not be worth it.

Pic of the entire guard, well protected now!

Very happy with the overall fit.
