I'm going to look at buying this CJ6 tomorrow, my question is I've never seen a CJ6 with the door opening of what looks like a CJ7. Has this body been modified?

Looks modified. More pics would be helpful. Hard to see the factory body panel lines with the white and so far away.

That is not a CJ6, wrong wheelbase and rear tub section, along with th funky door opening, looks to be a CJ7.

Wheelbase looks too short for a 6. I agree it looks more like a 7

Looks to be a cj7 not a 6. It would be nice if we had more pictures.

That's a CJ7 with a title from an older CJ-6. Is this in California? I'd stay way clear of this.

Looks to me it may be a CJ7 tub on a CJ6 frame. It appears to have the short nose of an early CJ5/6.

All that body armor would make me suspicious too. Often body armor covers rust.

Whatever it is, the wheelbase has been shortened to around 90". The CJ-6 wheelbase is 101". RORO is correct, the body is CJ-7 and the front clip is early. The frnt fenders have been trimmed to work with the (YJ? TJ?) fender flares. Again, I would suspect a lot of rust under the armor.

Here are a few more pictures from the seller, he did't build it and really doesn't know much about it.

Well turns out this is a total custom, the drive train from what I could tell is original CJ6 the hood, windshield, dash, and cowl are still CJ6 but the frame and rest of the body are all custom built. There is no rust under the diamond plate as that is the body. The tires rub on the body and 1st gear is out on the trans but it looks well built.

What are some opinions on this? My concern is if I damaged the body how hard would it be to fix.

Thanks for your input so far.

No harder to fix than a original I'd suspect.......If you like it and the price then nothing should hinder you

what does the wheelbase measure center of axle to center of axle ,,,,,, looks TOO custom ,,even the frame look it over very carefully ,,, if you hurt the body at least wrangler tubs are in the junkyard ..........

but if it was me I'd move on ......is it cheap?

    did you drive it?
