If you have a AMC engine you will also need a engine adaptor.

For that much, you could probably buy a fairly modern SBC and TH350 and maybe have enough left over for the trans-TC adapter.

The TF999 from a 1980 up CJ-7 is basically the same thing, and uses the superior Dana 300 transfer case ... and it bolts up to AMC Gen III engines. I'm sure you could find the entire drivetrain for less than this.

I may have found a tf727 coupled to a dana 300 but i start to look to final ratio and i'm a little afraid. With my actual set-up i have a 47:1 ratio, doing a tf727 swap i will have about 25:1 almost half of it....

what do you guy's think about that?

Automatics are a different style of two-footed driving on the trail. You don't need as much gear reduction. And you'll have a D300, which increases your crawl ratio by about 30%.

The CJs were 999s, not 727s. The V8 Wagoneers used the 727 but they are all drivers side drop. The 727 has a bulge in the pan that may interfere with the drive shaft in a CJ application, though I've heard about it being done.

yeah that sound good to me...

But i really found a tf727 coupled to a dana 300. About the drive shaft, i run scout axle, pumpking are more offset to passenger side than the regular dana 30. Also i have more than 4" lift so i'm not worried about that.

I was questionning mysel about the ratio issu.
