glass for windshield - where to find it

I asked by mail to the glass shop, they say that there is a mark on the glass.
But it is not clear for me if it is on the glass before cutting, of on the piece after cutting.
I am sceptical.
Of course, good idea, I can provide an invoice.

I'll check again.
Working before in the big industry, it is a job to check what a supplier says... before buying.

 

I ordered mine from Kaiser Willys on line (60 CJ5 one piece). It was less than half the price the local glass shop - I wanna say around $130 and was extremely well packed.

 

I have free glass coverage with my auto insurance. When I cracked the glass on my old 71 I called the insurance company and a safelite rep came out removed the old and came back three days later and put new glass in. No cost to me. Just an option that I'm not sure many people even thought would work.

 

Interesting. I have heard several good reports about Safelite and the Safelite franchisees.

 

Yeah my insurance company goes through them. They have been excellant every time I have used them. I am not sure how expensive they are cause my insurance covers all glass but I have had three dealings with them over the years and everytime they were quick, professional and had excellant service. I got multiple calls apologizing for the three day delay on the CJ, they claimed that there normal practice is same day service.

 

Simple and cheap to acid-etch the 'bug' on the new glass. I imagine a professional supplier can do it.
