I thought I would share my new OBA system with you, I'm very happy with it as the end result has allowed me to pump up my 33" tyres in under 60 sec (10 psi - 30 psi)

The pump I've used is from a Toyota Hilux (it was free and readily available to me), it's a multi piston rotary pump (high capacity). I had to modify the inlet/outlet ports as the originals were not suitable and were only a Toyota fitting. New ones are a standard BSP fitting.

I had to fabricate up a new bracket to support the pump, its located in a similar position to that of the factory AC pump

Next was to make my manifold, I turned up something in the lathe, and milled a couple of flat's to make drilling and threading easier

A quick mock up of the system

Manifold finished and installed, same with tank

and then finally the finished unit

    Nice looking.
Do you have someway of draining the moisture out of the tank.

That's one nice set up, clean and nicely done.

I like it. Nice and clean, looks very useful.
I will save this thread for future reference. Might be a good project down the road.

    Thanks for posting,

    Dave

I had one of those pumps. To bad I couldn't figure out how to attach it to the serpentine belt.
My ARB pump works, but it takes a while. Nice set up.

Yep there is a drain valve in the base of the tank just like a full size compressor. Just drilled and tap one to suit.

Nice. My York based system is similar but I mounted the tank under the bed, in front of the axle, and used a surplus soleniod valve and sintered filter on the drain. Also good for occasionly scaring the the hell out of some unsuspecting soul. I used an aluminum O2 cylinder.

    John,

Can you post up some pics of your OBA set-up?

Is there any desire to start a sticky on just OBA? Seems like it would be very beneficial to have it all in one place rather than scattered all over the build threads. Andrew's would make a good start.
