    That's the first time I've heard of the 225 tagged as Fireball. Makes sense though, that Buick would carry the name through on their engine family, and Jeep would hang a different name on it.

    I had a stock 'blue' Buick motor with Fireball on it that was a single bbl 225 motor.

    Thats the motor that's in my jeep. The valves are smaller than the later model 225 v6. Like Chuck said it came with a single barrel carb.

    Never in a 225. Mid year '77 in the 231 used in cars.

    Is the Buick 3.8L V6 based on the 225?

    So why does my distributor cap have even spaces between each pole?

    :)I assume the question is you have a 225 Odd Fire and your wondering why your cap has even spaces?..........The Odd fire has nothing to do with the cap.......it's the unequal lobe under the breaker plate below the rotor that causes the Odd firing of the motor.

    Not the odd-firing is caused by the crank design. The connecting rods share a crank journal, it'a a V6, therefore it's odd-fire.
