i installed my engine and bell in one piece yesterday and didnt put the fork on, the throwout bearing is on though, my question is, is it possible to put the clutch fork in now without pulling the engine again? can i do it through the ispection hole on the bell housing? I hope i didnt just waste all my time.... Any help would be great, Geoffrey.

I installed mine through the inspection slot on a 134 after. I wasn't a problem until it slipped out of my hand and fell into the bell housing. A half hour of hair pulling frustration.

I had that happen once then i got it out and gave up till i asked here, i didnt wanna try if it cant be done, and i really dont wanna pull that engine, it took me all day to get it to line up with the trans and slide on the input shaft the whole way, i didnt get it till i about lost my patients, stood in the engine compartment, grabbed the engine, hulked it up an inch and shook and pushed it like hell, then assuming it still didnt work, i went into the cab and sure enough it finally connected, i had a little victory dance with many curse words afterwards.... but these bolts to hold the bell to the trans are a pain to put on..

It seems like 3 or weeks back we had this topic on the forum.

The people that got it finished tied a piece of string or wire to the fork so it was easier to retrieve after it fell.

I think the other person had his daughter install it, her hands fit better.

I used a long hook pick, a flathead screwdriver, and a flashlight in my mouth, upside down! I just pulled the floor pans, and the inspection cover. It took a while, but I eventually got it. Just make sure the spring on your throw out bearing don't come off before you put it back together.....also make sure you rotate the engine (manually) to move the pressure plate where it gives you more room inside the bellhousing......

The springs don't go on the clutch fork. They go to the thing in front of the throw out bearing.
