I found a guy with several flatty's in his yard. all of which were complete. the two I could get to are pictured below. one is all ford with all original parts (minus the shovel , gas can , spare etc. ) there were a couple more with stuff grown over them. the one in the picture with 'willys " on the side of the hood needs a floor or entire tub. If there are 4 jeeps is there enough value in parts (or whole) in three of them to fund fixing one of them up. I am new to the flat fender variety and would love to have one. Or maybe trade all 4 for one in good condition. I offered to haul them off so he wouldn't have to mow around them and he chuckled.

First pic is a later 2A, second appears to MB or GPW with civy rims.

If you could get them cheap, you could probably part them out for a profit. I would guess the small parts on the MB/GPW would be pretty desirable.

As for trying to get either of them in usable shape, I don't know if it would be worth the effort. Judging by how far they have sank into the ground, I'd say you would be in for a long road and a lot of money to put them back together.

Good find! I think that you could restore one or all of them. It will not be a week-end project, but It is doable. I would try to buy all of them as a package deal. Getting the GPW would be the big priority for me. I would sell it to a restorer and use the $$ to restore/restomod one of the others.

As for being that deep in the ground, why would that be such a big deal? Is the soil acidic or alkali there? If not, is it very wet?

    Good luck, Matt W.

the first one is a "lefty....a 48 2a..some 48's had the top bows on the pass side..it also appears to have a very early windshield frame..notice the square washers to the left and right of the willys in the frame...
