As said many times, it depends on the rig.

My 1948 willys flat head, below 50F, turn on boost pump wait 10 seconds, pump 2X, set choke at 1/2 hit the starter. It will start and idle. let warm while clearing windscreen of ice. Turn off boost pump and drive for about 1/2 mile, choke off and drive normal. Warm 1st start of day, boost pump, pump 2X choke at 1/4 hit starter, it will run. Turn off boost pump and drive, choke off at 1/2 mile.

My 1953 Super hurricane six wagon, Same as above without the boost pump.

My 1949 Willys Pickup buick 225 oddfire, pump once choke 1/2 hit the starter, she will fire. Warm her up for 30-45 seconds then drive. choke off at about 1/4 mile. but be prepared to rechoke her, she is cold blooded.

My 1959 Ford pickup 223 straight six, Pump 2X 1/2 choke, hit starter, it runs, drop choke to 1/4. Clear ice, drive, choke off at 1/8 to 1/4 mile. she drives fine.

My 1959 Ford pickup 412 V8, Full choke pump 4X, hit starter, if it catches, drive for 1/2 mile then 1/2 choke, at 1 mile no choke. If it does not catch, good luck!! I have not figured this one out yet!

All of them when warm, just bump the starter, they are running.

In the summer, since I live on a slight hill, I just release the park brake, slip it into nuetral and coast down my drive, I will then slip them into 2nd gear and let the clutch out slowly. When they start I just drive off.

ditto on mine- F-Head with a Solex

No need to pump the gas with a Solex

When my 258 was carb'd-- it was: push the throttle to the floor (that set the choke) and the crank it.

Yep good question. Get in and pull the choke then push the button. Two or three turn overs then off she goes. Push in the choke. F-134 12 volt Warm engine just get in and push the start and off you go.
