Here is the wife's new street beater. The new 3.6L is much better than the 3.8L in my 08 Wrangler IMO, much smoother and stronger.

Nice paint choice! I have about 500 miles on this one:

I put the first trip miles on it a week back which included both Homestake (I90) and McDonald (US 12) passes. The 3.6 does ok but is not a rocket ship. And now that I'm thinking about it, not that much different than the 225 with the 4 bbl and headers in the 68. Doesn't have a prayer of keeping up with the 3B. Unfortunately, it apparently will not get the mileage of either the 3B or the 5. Must be the extra 1300-1500 lbs. Certainly handles a bit nicer on the road.

I really like the way they look. But when I sit in one it feels claustrophoic to me. The way the dash slops out farther at the top then at the bottom just makes me feel cramped.

I know there is at least as much room in it as in my TJ it just feels weird to me.

I really like the two door version for trail use. Too bad even fo the kidfs getting into the back seat on a two door is nearly impossible. Lots more room than a CJ5, but just as bad gymnastics. Ah, flip and fold seats, sure miss those.....

I think they messed up the interiors of the JKs in 2011 with all the fanciness. They look too much like the grand Cherokees now. I prefer the inside of my wife's 09 Rubicon. The dash is still like a jeep.

The fanciness is what sold the wife. She was shopping for the Grand Cherokee but we picked up the Wrangler for about $12K less and she still got leather, heated seats, and navigation.

I have to agree with your wife on the fanciness. Even though I really love my Commander, I'm still tempted on a red on red four door.

I'm not usually a big fan of red, but I like this color. looks like a nice car - I presume it's an automatic?

We thought about the red on red thing for a while also, but ours is most definately going to be used for what Jeeps are presumably built for and those fenders are going to inevitably collect a bunch of branch scratches and/or be replaced so just couldn't see spending the extra $. Better spent on the winch which should be here today.
