I know that these aren’t original to any year CJ, but I was wondering if anybody knows anything about them. I can’t find any info on the web about these particular ones. Signal-Stat 2101. They have a universal mounting bracket attached.

If this is the wrong forum, I apologize. @Focker

A lot of pictures of the vintage 2101 Signal-Stat taillights, but I can not find these ones either.

They certainly seem familiar.. Maybe a generic aftermarket unit.

That's a good article, thank you! While I did know that these aren't originals, I did learn that what was on my 72 were not original either. Now I know what to look for.... Eventually.

You're welcome! These are scarce. They get smashed quite easily. You can find the replacement lenses online, but intact buckets are hard to find. Left has a pedestal and license plate bracket, and a window with a lens to illuminate the license plate. The right has no window.

There are some imported replacements that are similar and look ok. Search through old posts and you'll find some discussion.

On my 71 the model of lights are:

    Left; Grote 416, SAE ST1AL 68
    Right: Grote 416, SAE ST1A 68
They are still the original and look just like Timgr shows above.

Note that the screw orientation is different on the reproduction lights. They are clocked 180 degrees from original, if that matters .Don't know why they would not have made them the same. mike DSC03301.JPG

The lights pictured are universal aftermarket tail lights. Though not correct, they will work fine on an old Jeep. What year Jeep do you have?

Mine is a 72 Renegade. I’ll use these ones until I come across some originals.
