    no experience with that set-up....
but from the pics, a good exhaust guy shouldn't have any trouble bending the pipe for clearance issues.
    that's my opinion

I agree with Jpflat2a. A good exhaust shop should be able to clear that. Might consider a heat shield though..

I have almost your exact setup and mine wouldnt...I cut off the flange on the manifold and did some grinding to angle the flange at a more desirable angle and welded it back on. Yours does appear to have better clearance than mine did though. One thing you will want to use is a heat shield for the cylinder IMHO

I am having this same exact issue, anyone have pics that they could post so I can see how the exhaust is bent? IMG_1735.JPG

Too close for my comfort so I went with the pull style setup.

Hahah! I run the same setup exactly. It makes the fluid turn brown in a year. I have a newer 231? manifold that dumps farther forward to mitigate this issue, but haven't installed it yet because I will need to re do my exhaust.

Run it. its fine. Novak makes rebuild kits when the orings die.

Ceramic coating makes a huge difference on heat output. I can have my hand 2" from a set of SBC headers and it is not that hot. Just don't touch them.

I tried to install that 231 manifold. It dumps the same place as the 225 buick one, so don't bother buying it to mitigate the heat issue. I bled and removed all the brake fluid from the master and slave while I was in there. Its seems fine. If you're concerned, make a heat shield.

I did what RATTY did. I like the pull type set up. I simply drilled and tapped into one of the ears on the transmission for a mounting point. No brackets or anything. Pretty clean.

Have you considered running the front dump manifold? I have them on mine, but run the Advance adapter chain setup.

For the pull set up, what are you using for your cylinder? Looks like a wildwood, but do you have a model number?

I was planning on the Novak setup, but looks pretty close to the exaust.

    Thanks

Mine is a different brand than RATTY's, I think. I'll have to look. I sourced mine from a local dirt track racer's parts store many years ago. Wilwood should have everything you need.

    A 7/8" bore Wildwood slave #260-1333.
    A 3/4" bore Wildwood master # 260-15098.
A Jegs pivot ball stud #555-601020.
The bracket in the picture is home made.
You can use your choice of flexible brake hose or rigid brake line for connecting the master to the slave.

Yes, I like it much better...it takes firm pressure but I can even push it in with my hand. That's something I could never do before with the mechanical setup.

Cool. I have trouble with mine but, after talking with Tarry99 some time ago, I'm sure it's because my pedal ratio is wrong and my pushrod from the pedal to the master cylinder is not in perfect alignment. Issues I need to address one of these days.
