I feel as though I'm moving slower or I should say not making as much progress as I should be. My brother is in the middle of moving, and he has a cold, and he will be away from "his" project for a bunch of days.:(

An item from Parr Automotive, PRR-5005P - Push On Style Heater Bulkhead Plates. Making a nice transition from the engine compartment to inside the cab. Working on a simple heater, something which will probably never be used, but it looks good. I have appropriate heater hoses coming; note the 90degree fitting in the head.

I spent some time today working on the Koenig winch. This is probably as far as I'm going to go with it, it's clean, it works, or I should say the mechanism works, haven't tried it cause I aint got the engine running yet.

Didn't think I'd ever get it apart, it was seized, but my HF puller kit got it apart;) Then wrestled with the spool/drum and it finally came off.

It's clean, cantankerous, the release fork is rather sloppy, but it works, and that's about as far as I'm going to take it, I said that right! lol
    [IMG]

I had already replaced the u-joints in the PTO driveshaft, but here it is again.

The kit is available from Hermtheoverdriveguy.

I think I have enough stuff to at least hot wire the engine to start it (might do that tomorrow)~ have yet to order the wiring harness. I'll probably order one from Hotrodwires.com. I bought one for my '59 Chevy Apache and it was "easy".
most tomorrow I'll spend re-organizing my shop and find all my scattered tools so I can work more efficiently! ;)

Yes, you've been working on this since September and this is how far you've gotten.

    Frankly I'm appalled. :(

Great news~ it started right up(after a little prime)! Had the valve cover off to verify oil making to the top end. Oil pressure steady at 50psi, temp 170(180 thermostat). I lowered the jeep onto jackstands instead of letting the axles dangle from the lift, then ran it through the gears and all is OK.

Temporarily installing the air cleaner, is this the best connector from the air horn to the air cleaner there is? It's just kind of "kinky".

lol, I must say I am enjoying this build more than any of my builds! ;) It is a fun kind of "work, or play I should say";) I do look on CL from time to time to see what's out there, but after my brothers jeep, I really need to catch up on my own classics, just that I'm obcessed with getting it going. However, since getting a lot of the parts in it/ on it, my garage is starting to open up again! yah!!

I spent a few hours on making the miata seats work. They may sit a tad taller than the stock seats, but I'm kind of tall, or mostly legs I should say;) My brother on the other hand has shorter legs and should work fine for him. They look great and are quite comfortable(I should know). I had to do some simple mods to the original jeep seat frames and could easily go back if need be. They both recline, but this mainly helps when getting under the passenger seat, or just remove the passenger seat to get to the utility box. I need to figure a way to keep the passenger seat from flying forward in a harsh stop for the passenger sakes!

What 3 point seat belts are you guys using in your jeeps?

Obviously still need to remove the seats to clean up the jeep seat frames, and the interior walls of the jeep.

I made this "back up" light switch; engaged by the reverse 'thing', I had to modify the switch by removing the ears of the back up switch and soldered the wires to it, then wrapped it in electrical tape. My new tail lights have LED back provisions and I intend to make them work;)

Hi y'all! Having a little fun, put the headlights in, not hooked up yet. Just had to break the cycle of running wires!

The right fender is kind of semi-permanently installed; probably be taking it off again, easy enough.

Heater now plumbed, battery functional and engine starts with a key now;) Tomorrow, need to go get some solderless terminals of course which will be soldered. Hate running out of stuff like that. Rob should be here Friday to join in the fun! I could use a little help.

    dne' ;)

Brakes adjusted and bled, power booster installed, waiting for a connection for vacuum. Remote reservoir for ease of checking brake fluid.

The other little carryover you can see here is the indent in the hood (and inner fender) for the fender mounted black out drive light wire that snaked out from under the hood on a M38A1. Another one is the raised bosses on the tailgate that accepted the footman loops for the A1 top.

The halo portion of these headlights may be used as turn signals, the amber colored ones. This is without the headlights on, just "parking lights".

The phone camera doesn't capture the lights very well, but this is a comparison of both. I can just switch pigtails behind the lights, or could put a toggle switch to go between, but I'm busy enough;)

Robo was here today~ yay! and I had him help me install the hood, which you know comes off like lightning;) then played around with the spare tire after re-installing the roll bar. Not sure how I'm going to make a carrier for the spare yet. Rob wants it to be able to be removed in case he wants a small seat for the back area(assuming there are small seats for back there). The spare is just being held up by a piece of 4x4 wood.

Still waiting on a windshield, perhaps Kaiser or someone will have a sale on the glass. However, the Willys is looking is looking mighty fine;) I still have a bunch of wiring under the dash to do; probably not as bad as I'm thinking, then the tail lighting. Oh, I had Rob help me with the roll bar to make sure a 3 point seat belt would work, and it will; just need to order.
The Willys is up on the lift, it doesn't sit that high, but looks really neat that high!;)

My nose is sooooooo stopped up:( but I'm doing what I can today on the dash wiring. This is not where the dash will be, it's up and away from its home.

I made a little metal thing to hold the dash out and upward.

the universal ignition switch didn't fit in its original hole, so I put it far to the left where a hold fit it perfectly. I kind of like where it is, just need to figure what to do with the large old ignition switch hole. I'm thinking a wiper switch may go there~ hm I don't know.
    Need to make lunch;)

The dash bulbs in the new speedo aren't very bright:( Perhaps some LED ones would be better?

Too bright at nights unless you have a dimmer.

That's for sure, all the instrument lighting are connected through the headlight dimmer, but then the dash lights would go even more dim than they are.

I have LED bulbs in all dash locations. The gauges are so far out of my line of vision the brightness is not an issue.

I have led bulbs in the speedometer, no dimmer. Here it is in comparison to the voltmeter which has the original bulb in it for comparison. The speedometer is not too bright with LED 's.
