Make sure your regulator has a good DEDICATED ground to it's case,
And *IF*... You need a Diode, it will install in the 'Black' line with the stripe on the diode facing the regulator.

I would test your rig first to see if you are going to have the 'Run On' problem before cutting into the wiring.

      -------------

'Small Red' is the ignition switch, so the module knows when to 'Wake Up' with the key switch.

Small 'White' is for breaker points distributors,
Which I believe you said you were going to a Jeep/Motorcraft distributor so you won't use that 'White' wire...

Now remember, if you GROUND that white wire, the engine won't run...
So if you run it through a HIDDEN switch, it works at theft control!
And you get it for free!

TeamRush, thank you for being willing to help all of us Jeep nuts. I have two questions concerning the ignition upgrade (diodes and stuff) if you don't mind:
      1. I think I have a good voltage regulator, it's a new one from NAPA and is stamped 'made in USA' in the metal. I am installing the MSD6 series module, do I still need a diode with this system, if so, where (on the black wire to the regulator)?

2.Concerning the MSD6 series module; I have a wiring diagram for the upgrade (it's your diagram) that shows the entire wiring including an MSD module. Do I need to do anything with the small 'Red' and 'White' wire coming from the MSD module, or do I just need to cap them?
