Dauntless trouble update

    The oil cap came from another Dauntless, I think. The breather came from Autozone. On that valve cover (with the bigger hole) I brazed a washer on it so it would accept a standard 1 1/4" grommet. The other side I punched out to the same with a chassis punch.

    Good show old man, good show. Glad the problem is solved and that it was not a more serious issue.

    I do sleep better now that that's all over...:D Now I just gotta get some miles on it..70 so far..:D

    I put about 50 highway miles on it today.:D :D :D It seems to have a bit more power than the old one....A bit..;)

    You know, it's a good thing that I generally enjoy working on the Jeep.
    FWIW, I emailed pics of the repair and a "repair order" to the rebuilder, and it's been submitted for reimbursement. The core gets picked up tomorrow...

    Dare I ask who the builder was? I normally take mine down to a little old guy who knows these things inside and out for the machine work, but he is 91 now and I am not sure how long he will be with us.

    FWIW, everything on this motor looks great. For whatever that's worth. Their website makes their operation look pretty impressive, too. FWIW
