If you want the corners right. Take the jeep to a fab shop and tell them to make some to fit the corner radius. They will simply take sheets of 1/8" or 3/16" material and run it thru there slip roll until it has the proper radius. Maybe 10-12 minutes a piece for some one who knows how to run it. Any thicker than 1/8" is gonna add quite a bit of weight. 1/8" ones will weigh about 20lbs a piece or more.

was looking at the gen-right website and it said their 3/16" corner guards weighed 40 lbs each when uncut...they also have 3/16" aluminum but it's damn expensive...

I don't know why you're so against having a rear bumper protecting those corners. My shackles are the limiting factor on my departure angle, not my bumper.

Had a local shop bend up some 3/16 long corners for me, basically the same thing you would get from Gen-Right.
They used a brake to "bump" the corners around.
So what I ended up with a corner guard that reaches from the tailgate to the doors with no wheelwells, lights, or gas cut outs.
They supplied the metal and labor at the tune of $160.

My Dad asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I told him about the Warrior corner guards and I think he is going to get them for me, black powder coat. Fingers crossed!

Anyone have new info/source for steel corners?
    Would ECJ corners fit a ‘64 CJ3B?

I had a rear demolished on my 64 when I bought it. It had three layer of metal band-aided on it. I cut all that off, bought a piece of 16ga steel
and formed a corner the same radius as the original, cut it to fit and welded it on. Stronger than ever and looks natural.
I used a piece of well casing pipe that was the right size for the bend and went to work heating and hammering the 16 ga around it..
Lots of work, but worth it..

Locally I found a HVAC shop that made their own ducting parts in steel. They only had 24 ga galvy and 16 ga hot rolled (apparently) but they were willing to make a part for me in 16 ga. Note this is a lot heavier than body steel, which is like 19 ga on old cars and thinner on new.

I mention this here because a sheet metal shop will have a slip roller that can bend your new corner steel to any radius that you need. Might be worth your while to seek out a shop that can do this.

I'd also mention that this shop did this for me for free - they did not even charge me for material. I went with a drawing and measurements, and they were willing to help me. I got the impression that they never see anyone walk up to the shop door with requests like this - their business was all to local contractors. They would not take my money, but you could offer to buy pizza for the shop's lunch or a case of beer for after work or something ...

When you put the corner guards on the jeep, how do keep it from getting moisture behind it and causing rust? I'd like to add a little armour but I'm worried about the long term effects.
