    Yes, I understand all that.

    1. I know Sammy doesn't have a race motor and/ or a solid lifter cam.

    2. How many people who walk into autozone and buy these HAVE a solid lifter cam?

I gotta agree with that, had one of those years ago on a '62 Lincoln, one back fire created quite a mess.

Yeah I realized that after I bought it.... And 3 people told me yesterday one back fire and it will light up and melt into the carb.... It's going away. Need to find a mo'betta filter.
    Yes...
And these aren't the cheesy wing nut style from autozone... They're actually real aluminum, not pot metal.... And they're going away sometime...

    On that...
Got the side pipes installed, again thanks to The Car Guys (Fred)

And Fred helped me fabricate a cool slave cylinder bracket. Well, he did most of the work for it.

HUH? I CAN'T HEAR YOU. THE EXHAUST IS TOO LOUD!! :rotflamao:

Seriously Sammy, it's going to sound great but I think I see some turbo mufflers in your future if you drive it much.

I love the immaculately detailed engine and the bent and mangled oil filter. What the heck you got to crawl under to see it.

Yeah.... I think it will be cool for about 2 friday nights. After that I'm looking at the off road super 44's from Flowmaster.
When it's time, I'll have Fred cut the purple hornie tips off and put them on the 44's R)
    R)
    And overspray!
The oil pan and filter are going away soon. I have a much better condition pan and it needs a filter anyway. The engine has been uh...set down on several wood blocks when I was installing it :D

Sammy-might want to plate the pan before you install it. This is a scanned photo from about 1975 and I am still using that pan-on it's third motor. It did get an extension to cover the oil temp sender.

I did the same on the 231 in my '59-5 when I rebuilt and installed it years ago. That was long before the internet and I found out they did it on the Renegade's. It was a good mod. Never had an oil pan issue from impact or stuff getting stuck under the engine. Silly things like logs or rocks:rofl:

Took 3 trips to Autozone to get the right size belt but meh. When's the last time you've seen a Nissan PS pump on a SBC mounted off the ramshead and powering a Saginaw pump!!

Had this little gem left over from the days of flathead and electric pump.... Not needed, but looks cool in there, and I spent $ on it, so why not use it?

AC Delco fuel filter that they still make the element for :D
    [IMG]
The magic of early heads with no accesory bolt holes, and having to make bracketry to mount in other places. Woo!

I'll be needing to make my own intake, using an air plenum with the single or dual snorkels coming off :( Bought a nice Moroso 14" filter and forgot my upper radiator hose is in the way.
    And the new mufflers:
[IMG]Has an nice deep throaty tone now, just right at idle, and has bawls when you open it up.
