Homemade hardtop out of fiberglass then upholsterered in convertible top cloth, vinyl headliner........bottomline, too damn much money in a top I can't use 'cept for 'looking purty'.......so whatcha want to know besides that?R)

If I had it all to do over again I probably wouldn't.....(original plan was to build a Willys 'Scrambler' then changed my mind thinking a pickup would be easier....in the long run, probably would have been about the same....but anyway, the Scrambler idea is why I built the top)

The guy never got back to me about the top, i think he sold the Jeep actually and the top went with it. So it's back to making a soft top out of military tent halves.

keep an eye on ebay and the classifieds on G503. you might not find a whole softop at once but you can maybe get it cheaper by buying it in pieces. i have been doing it that way slowly and so far i have both sides and the rear piece for military canvas softop... i'm just missing the top piece now. they all hold together with those twist snaps. The shades dont match perfectly, but i'm not building a parade jeep so it doesnt matter much to me.

I have a full KayLine but I can't figure out how to mount it right :( I think a lot of the hardware is gone.

There wasn't a "build thread" on it.....the bed is Model A Ford, the fenders started out as full size Willys truck fenders (but they're not anywhere close to that now)

This is Sammy's hardtop thread.....we should keep it that way.
