if i can find some 42's for the right price i'll run them... and the lower gears make the hole shot a blast... thanks... and it still fits around the property...

brakes are nice, still need to bleed another time or 2... had to go to flaps and get new bleeder screws for the 60... they were rusted open... :)

Something I've been wondering about, what master cylinder/booster are you running with the one tons? We've built several of them here, usually out of bare tubs, and try to run the Chevy master cylinder with a Jeep booster. They all stop good, but the pedal is almost on the floor to get them stopped. I've got a 79 CJ5 that's about to get the same axle combo you got there, and I was gonna try to see how the stock MC/Booster works out with it, just wondering what you used on yours and how well the pedal feels.

Sometime middle of this year mine should finally be done, and it'll be something close to what you're running. I'm gonna push the rear out to give it about a 108-110" wheelbase, four link it and run some 16" travel fox air shocks. 283 on propane/350 turbo/ 300 with lowmax gears, and I'm gonna start out with 4.56 axle gears running 44 tsl's. From some of the other's we've built, with the 300 with lowmax gears, the 5.13's seem to be too low unless you've got alot of motor, 4.11's are great in 4lo, but in 4hi they are a little lacking, so I'm gonna try it in the middle to start. Already got all the parts, motor, propane, tranny, tcase, axles, tires, beadlocks........just gotta get the air shocks and get it all put together.

Scott I am running stock Chevy Master cylinder with no booster and it stops ok...gonna need some tweaking to get it where I want it, but it does stop without flooring brake pedal

    Stock one ton?

If so then we're close to the same, only we're running Jeep brake boosters. The booster is the reason the pedal goes to the floor, and they do lock the tires up good, just doesn't feel like there's much pedal to them. I don't really mind it much as long as it stops, just hoping to find a way to get a better feeling pedal out of it.

out of a stock 1/2 ton. and yeah the pedal isn't quite where I want it either. goes from some brakes to ALL brakes/locked up pretty quick. I need more gradual than i currently have. Then again I might just need to get used to it
