well been dreading this post, have not been able to repeat the performance of the other night

She just keeps acting like she wants to fire, but never catches

so I pulled the oil pump and distributor and got everything back in so that I have adjustment in the distributor so that when the engine is #1 TDC, I have about equal adjustment to each side of the rotor so I can advance and retard the timing.

Replaced the batery cable with a monster set I had laying around and it does seem to turn over better

needed to feel better about progress so I worked on the fenders a bit and bled the rear brakes, need to finish the front

Got a couple local Jeepers who have offered up an extra set of eyes, as this should not be all that hard, it just seems to be fighting me. They will touch base with me sometime this week

Also Parted out an old CJ6 on Sat - got a matching engine, trans and transfercase, buddy wanted the frame for a future build and the axles were already gone into another jeep.

    tried that to:?

will keep ya posted on what I find - got to work tomorrow, won't get to look at it till the afternoon

plan to go at it fresh, re check valve train, ect

    it's gotta be something simple

getting spark but will get another set: rotor, cap and plugs, there not all that expensive and a spare set never hurt anyone

    to be continued...

Before you throw $$ at it, take a breather and re-trace your steps. Air, fuel, spark, timing. I(t fired once, you can't be that far off!

Believe it or not, no, - I did replace them, gapped them to 30 thou and through all this, - they "Look" ok, nothing I would call fouled. Still an extra set of plugs couldn't hurt. The origonal set were the ones I left in the block for paint - they are now blue and in the trash.

thought a nights sleep would bring me revalations and good feelings.

    I'm just groggy, need coffee
