First time in 30+ years. The Mission Impossible CJ5 came to life today. I finally got the correct starter, and it fired right up.
No funny noises, no leaks yet, the clutch works smooth and it goes forwards and back and stops. Good oil pressure and the temp stayed down even though I didn't have enough coolant to top it off. Topped off the P/S reservoir and turned the wheel back and forth to bleed the air. and I've got power steering also. Merry Christmas. To All!

For spending 30years sitting in the woods, the old girl is coming along. I Used VHT Vinyl Dye, and got a decent match on the Land Rover Jump Seats, to the VW Pissant front buckets.
Steering column is back in and P/S is bled and working.

I took my '68 project jeep out in the snow for the first time. The jeep has Lock-o-Matic hubs. I rebuilt them when I put the jeep back together. I wanted to see if the hubs actually auto-engaged like they were supposed to.

In 4wd the front hubs indeed engaged.

II was able to easily drive up the side of the road in the snow. Those are all my tracks. I was the only one out there having fun today.

Not very winter-like here in North Carolina.
Gave the grand-kids rides in the Jeep.

    Happy New Year:
