The engine does not hunt for idle, it seems smooth to me, at times, the idle will slow down, then it will pick back up. The idle does not rev high.

I had a rich issue at idle, talked to a tech guy, very nice and patent with me. I adjust the Air/Fuel Ratio AFR and this help. He told me since the EFI is on a oddfire there may be some adjusting to get it right. If it was on a Chevy 350 it would be plug and play

If some one wants to PM a phone number I can text you a video of the engine running and you can post it here. At this time I do not know how to do that.

The more I think about the force fuel, the more I like not having to install an inline or in tank EFI fuel pump. So simple to just run a line up from the manual fuel pump.

If I understand this, the novelty of the ForceFuel device is the use of an in-tank pump in a bespoke accumulator that mounts under the hood. You can fill an under-hood accumulator with either a low-pressure electric pump located near the fuel tank, a low pressure pump in the fuel tank, or the original mechanical fuel pump driven by the engine. Typically these systems use the Ford-style inline high pressure pump under the hood, fed by the accumulator. A spin-on fuel filter works well as an accumulator. Described well in this thread - International Full Size Jeep Association - View Single Post - Megasquirt2 Install AMC360 TBI 83' Cherokee

I'd think you could build an accumulator and pump system for about half the cost of the FiTech ForceFuel unit 50004 Force Fuel System - FiTech Fuel Injection

I guess you could but the Force Fuel is powered though the EFI ECM. There is no fuel return line on the TB. Do not know if that matters.

Right if you use the force fuel with the fitech you don't have the additional return line since the pump flow is controlled by the computer.

If you use the accumulator you will need a return from the tbi to the accumulator for the excess flow. I'm not sure how that was used on it's mega squirter application but for mine I will have 4 ports (vent from accumulator to tank) so there is no air in the system as a primer pump feeds fuel and sometimes air when off kilter.

FWIW - This is just the 2 bbl version of what we installed on my neighbors with the 225 OF. Its also got a newer 'command module' which is just a surge tank with a built in fuel pump. You can do this with a small custom tank. We made them out of 6" pipe in the old days so it would be fed at low pressure and then higher right in the bay on short runs.

Sorry Steve - I've not had time to figure out the file format and get it up yet for you.

Since we're talking about fuel stuff...

I'm looking at fuel pumps and options for my megasquirt install. If I was to get a pump for a 40psi application but use a 14 psi regulator, will that strain the pump or will it be fine?

That would depend on the regulator. You would want to use a 3 port - inbound, regulated outbound, and over flow return to the tank close to the throttle body. It would allow the pump to maintain it's 40PSI and then have the single short reduced section.

FYI I put the Summit Racing Fast 500 EFI on my 225 powered 3B over the summer. It's great, I have HEI as well, I went with the Edelbrock Universal Fuel Sump because it fit will in my cramped flatty engine bay. I know there's ways around this, but it actually made the install easier and clean I'm glad I went with it. On the EFI I noticed a tag that said contact Fitech if you have tuning issues so I'm guessing it's pretty similar and shares components. I did get a new under seat fuel tank and welded in three bungs for return line, vent line etc. and added an external regulator, though after hooking it all up I think the Unversal sump has adjustable fuel regulator in it so maybey somewhat redundant? Anyway the external regulator gives me a nice fuel pressure gauge which is helpful.

Glad to see this working for you. The RPMS on my FiTech handheld for my LS also bounce around a bit, it's just the sensitivity of their system. Keep an eye on their surge tank. They had a lot of problems with their earlier systems. I've talked to their tech support guys a couple of times and they were always very helpful, even with warranty claims.
