I did a 4l60 when the sun gear broke. super easy. The hard part was getting out and back in the truck.

I would say looking at different video its not a hard task. it's more about taking you,re time and having documentation.

I changed a 4l60 on my 1996 4x4 GMC pickup. That bolt on the top of the transmission is a bugger. Took me 3 days in the driveway. When it blew up again a mechanic friend did it for parts and dinner. Start to finish was 3 hours.

ours is on an S10 with a 2.2, which has no top bolt. that was nice, but we bought a normal bell one, which ended up not fitting, and the one for the 2.2 was cast into the transmission case. pain in the posterior.

Working time to time on it. Being looking for a way to mount my high lift jack.

Been looking over my front bumper, but i was never a big fan of that location

    186564397_587234715517964_4973981455681547605_n.jpg

Altought it's the most easiest way to mount it i don't like it. I may still use that mount place when i will not carry the whole back rack set-up

    187133275_1122880191540735_550565208649979550_n.jpg

So i kind of fabed some braket to hold it in place between tire and rack

    186491598_945495296186623_3357779452999357980_n.jpg

Oh and btw i had to do a test with a tsl mount in place againts my toyo's spare tire. (tsl is 36" and toyo 35")

And one last thing to work on is my tow strapp (some kind a bubba rope made from a boat rope)

Before is use to turn the rope behind the spare around the tire carrier.

Looked for some way to mount it. I just use some vise grip for the moment

Finaly i think i got the sollution, i will weld 6" long tubing behind the spare wheel (in place of the vise grip)

As dumb as i can be sometime, i did get into reading before ordering my last oil cooler for the transmission. I just tought the bigger the better and not looking into the actual difference between cooler.

So with my th350 transmission i now have a deep oil pan along an oil temp gauge screw into the pan. I not having big heating problem but i found out that i didnt had enought to always be in the safe temp.

I did a big upgrade with some email to derale. My actual cooler is a 16 row tube cooler with a 14 000 btu rating. I went with the 10000 series from derale and get the biggest one they are making. So know we are talking about a 40 road stacked plate with a 67 000 btu rating.

    186558465_1890032664508212_574519748408209047_n.jpg

Since space is a little tight in the front grill, i also change my 10 pass power steering cooler to a smaller one, still in the 10000 series from derales. The nice thing about these units is that i can bolt them together for an easier installation.

I have weld some derale support braket at the bottom of the grill assembly and i will use nylon strap with rubber pad to hold it against the engine radiator.

Have the make some special routing on the upper hose on the radiator that come from the transmission. I have to put my inline thermostat for the fan to kick on in case fluid getting too hot and engine not making the fan kick in.

Here's some feedback on the new cooler set-up. Have about 30 miles done today in a 90 degree outside temp. Transmission barely hit 180 and as soon the fan kick on it get around 160. Last time i rode the jeep in a 75 degree day i was getting a 220 temp on transmission. So hopefully i have solve that issus.
