Hi y'all;) finally something I can write about;) Finally got the jeep (Sissy) to the muffler shop. With pictures from the web of what I kind of wanted and his input, got most of the exhaust on. The exhaust ends at the muffler and I'll drive it back over there after I install a bumper. He didn't want to make the tail pipe without the bumper.
I'll get pics up of the exhaust tomorrow or soon. I don't really like what he did, but I'm kind of stuck with it.

After towing it home, time to get it running! I was a tooth off on the timing and had to re-locate the distributor so the vacuum advance was in the correct place. It did fire right up, then adjusted the timing, the rpms, adjusted the carburetor~ it sounds very good, revves good.
I had a time with the clutch, I'd push in the clutch pedal, felt good, but wouldn't allow me to put the tranny into gear; at least in reverse. The travel felt good, so I did a little adjusting on the clutch ajustment and it wound up being ok. I back it up off the 4post, omg, it sounds fabulous.

After a little more fine tuning, get the horn working, then I can go get the state inspection so I can get the plates; then a real test drive.

I need a good step system to get into the jeep, not for me, but for Gary. His range of motion isn't too good~ I can use a step up stool for him in the meantime.

I still need a hood decal and nerf bars or something for the sides, rock sliders?

This is what I did with the same headers. Tight mandrel bend tubing, expanded over the “no collector” and TIG’d. Added the clamps for easy future removal. Will take to a local place for ceramic coat- all mild steel up to this point. Rest of exhaust will be stainless.

Yes, needs a 1/16 clearance as very close to bellhousing. Collector length should work according to an exhaust guru and my TA performance aluminum heads

ps O2 bungs for future EFI, not sure which side so did both.

Wow, I like that a lot better than what the muffler guy did. You have clearance to get to the master cylinder, and clutch adjustment, I can on mine, it's just tough. Darn, I was just out there, should of taken a picture:(

By the way I always look at “Yep, bought a ‘68 CJ5 ( project)” and “Jurassic” first when I get on the forum - great work and results on both!

Thank you Dennis for being there and of course Fireball and EVERYONE!!!

First official drive~ My brother was over here ('62 jeep owner F-134), OMG, this JEEP runs incredibly well! Really sets you back in the seat! My brother is soooooo jealous! Got it back on the lift and there's a drip drip coming from the mating surface of the oil pump and timing cover. It has slotted screws as for a regular screwdriver~ I should have put regular bolts, and I will. I ordered another gasket, but want to take Gary (hubby) for a ride first. We have a large soccer/baseball park that I can go to; stones throw away from here. Great place to test drive except for smoking tires, they don't like that kind of action there! lol

Grandkids in the back(blanket on the bed), when we went for the short test drive. My brother riding shotgun. The kids got a kick out of riding openly like this~ reminds me when I was a little girl riding in the back of our fathers old old pickup in the back field

HI! I was sitting beneath my jeep and OH, I was going to take pics of the exhaust system! ;)
The exhaust is nice and relatively quiet, only concern was adjusting the clutch and brake, but I can get to em both ok.

My little brother bought some side steps for his 4 door dodge truck. His had a tiny bit of damage and the company sent him another set less the hardware so he gave me the other set (FREE). I just had to re-design the steps. This is still in the rough; tomorrow I need to get some steel and make this work. This should really help Gary get into the little jeep.

I still have seat belts to accomplish(haven't ordered yet), the head rest speakers work just fine and I won't go any further for additional sound/speakers. Need to make another bikini top like I did on my brothers.
    Having fun;)

Well, it's not perfect, but a little krinkle black paint might help it match at my welds. However, I'm happy with the steps;) I have yet to order seat belts, however I have the original lap belts which were in it, I may take a look at those, but I'd still want shoulder harnesses ASAP;)
    sorry for the duplicate pic:(

OK, my brother didn't want this rear seat, he had hopes of installing in his, but he realized that it would ever be used, so I bought it from him(haven't paid him yet). My kids and grandkids will hopefully be riding in it often. The seat does pivot forwardly, but not all the way(I'll post pics of the mounting later today). It does have a release latch; middle back, that's where two of the seat belts will attach.
Funny enough, the brackets that came with it bolted right to the existing holes/body mounts so I didn't have to drill any holes! ;)

This is one of the bumpers that the back rests on on the floor board

I had these left over from something and they elevate the back a tad and offer much more surface area to rest on.

Then my WILLYS decal showed up and really like it:D

I finally got my 3 point seat belts and should be putting those in soon, and some lap belts for the rear, still need to get it inspected so I can be street legal; lazy here. Don't want grandkids without seat belts and don't want them to be flying around;( I also have material for the bikini top and roll bar. I'll use 2"ish insulation store bought to encapsulate the tubes/roll bar and use velcro to secure it.
In the meantime, I found these Hellcat decals and seemed pretty neat;)

I'll be honest, I'm getting a little worried as I'm quickly finishing projects much quicker than I really should have:( The Jurassic build is going lightning fast!
    Well,
I've had the rear carpet here for a couple weeks, while waiting on some parts for the Jurassic build, I took some time to install the carpet, wasn't bad at all, it fits perfectly, ok a little trimming. Then I also installed the front 3 point seat belts, so that's done. Just need to install the rear seat belts tomorrow and that will be about it. oh, I do need to sew up a bikini top, but that shouldn't be a big deal, and that will just about top it off~ lol. I've had a great deal of fun and learning along the way;)
    dne';)

I didn't glue the carpet down, it's just being held by the roll bar base and other points.
