    It only has 1 switch for the locker I figured just the rear. My dad sent me the info that it has to be in 4L to engage the lockers. Press the switch 1 time for rear and a second time for front! Good to know.
    Tires look practically brand new. Here are a couple of pics. Hard top is in good shape and they included a full bikini top.
    I want to get new bumpers and new rock sliders with steps and ditch these steps. I have no experience with Smittybilt winches and was wondering if anyone runs one, thoughts?

    Guess the flares aren't bad but somehow the bumpers are faded. Odd. I always appreciated the Sahara painted flares...

    Not sure I am going to keep them. Sure looks like they would get ripped completely off if it gets twisted. Just not sure what to do. Bumpers will get changed eventually too.

    My daughter has those rocker/steps on her JK, they are really nice. No slippery surfaces when wet.

    I like our poison spider sliders. The bar is no good as a step but looks like yours may have a more substantial step. They're beefy though

    By the way congrats on the Rubi! Save year as ours, but in much better shape, haha

    In terms of the winch a bunch of our local wrangler group run them. I prefer warn but haven't witnessed the smittybuilts have any issues.

    No damage here, and Dad's had the Jeep on some pretty good trails. The lift helps of course. Call me old-skool but I like the look of the stock fenders and flares on TJs.

    I'm not sure whose sliders these are. They're pretty basic - just 2x4 square tubing. I like how they are almost invisible, but they don't really provide much of a step if you need that. At 6'3" I kinda just slide into the Jeep. Coming out I usually get the backside of my pants dirty on them.

    Nice looking, how much lift? I have 32's and they seem pretty tight. I like the flares and they are in good shape.
    I have what I believe are stock sliders that appear pretty beefy but I know for sure I would damage the steps.

    4" with 33 x 12.50's. I wanted to go 10.50's when I got it, but the tires weren't available when I needed them so went wide again. It's a bit roller-skatish, but I've gotten used to it.

    This Jeep had those same steps and Dad took them off to run these sliders.

    Thanks, which lift? Did you re-gear? New drivelines? A lift will be down the road. I thought about 35's but think I will just go 33's.

    Not sure on the lift. Dad did all the mods nearly 20 years ago. He bought the Jeep new and had it tricked out within the next ~ 18 months or so. There were a bunch of stickers on the Jeep when I got it, but between the bumpers, skids, and lift I'm not sure what parts came from what supplier.

    He did regear to 4.56's (I have the receipts for that). ARB air lockers from and rear. Otherwise stock driveline. He grenaded the rear end once and that had him shopping Rubicons for a while but he couldn't bring himself to pay the price to upgrade. IMHO for the amount of wheeling he did (Moab, Colorado, etc) the setup worked well. I wouldn't go bigger or taller. I think once you go 35's it's no longer a sunny day/ice cream/pleasure cruise rig, and that's really more we're going to use it for, with the occasional off-road trip locally.

    The only thing I'd like to do eventually is add a proper front hoop to the rollcage.

    Ours has a Rubicon express 4.5 lift on 35s. To be honest I wish it was between stock and 2" and 33s. Just seems simpler and easier to get in. Also I've learned the bilstien shocks they package for that lift are back breakers. I have 5100s on the cj and the valving is great but they're awful on the tj. Maybe it'll get better once we're up to full weight with a hard top, spare and bumpers but for now it's a very rough ride...

    Took the new Jeep to our local state off road park yesterday for a clean up event. It worked really well and I was very happy with it. It will take few trips to get used to the auto and bigger rig. The tires rubbed a couple of times. I plan to get 33's under it one day so a lift will be in order.

    I have a book with a bunch of trails in N. Ca. I have wanted to run a couple south of Carmel. I never wanted to drive the CJ the 1 1/2 hours to get to there. Yesterday I talked my wife into going to Old County Road. The turn off is just north of the iconic bridge on Highway 1 named Bixby Bridge. (not my pic of the bridge) The trail was rated easy unless it is wet. The main reason I wanted a newer Jeep was to do things like this. Drive it to places that I can check out and drive it home.

    I ordered a new front bumper and mirrors to use when the top is off yesterday. Next up when I get some more funds are rock sliders and rear bumper.

    I have to agree. As much as I like my old CJ-5s, driving them for hours on the highway to get to a trail does not sound like fun at all.
