To add more data, my '71 was built in May 1971 and still has the original paint and body parts.

    VIN: 8305017 374998

It has a tailgate with a Jeep stamping (lower case "eep"), an AMC logo, and no "4 wheel drive" stencil.

The VIN plate and dash sticker say "Jeep Corporation".

Fireball, You have a typo, the number you wrote should be 374998 as the plaque and sticker both show.
Big Rob, it looks like your Jeep is likely an October '70 production date which is a '71 model year. As to Kaiser or AMC, we need a few original examples close to yours to see what those say.

wow this one is really close only 5 off from my sequence, I would say mine was made in October of 1971. No doubt about it.

Correction Big Rob, make that 1970 (above). Looks like your Jeep in not Kaiser.
fctex, I can't believe the info you dig up! It looks like April '70 is still Kaiser, but June '70 is now Jeep Corporation. Any more numbers/dates (later April, May, or into June) to find the last Kaiser?

Just a notion ... if April '70 is still Kaiser, that's late in the production year; only a couple of months from the end of model year production. Could be these changes (badge, label, VIN plate) are cleanly divided between the '70 and '71 model years. There was at least one other change for '71 (the bell housing design) and maybe others. AMC was a real automobile company, and followed the distinct-model-year and retool-for-the-next year-in-summer paradigm that the big three followed then (unlike Kaiser). Possible they would have used the year-end changeover to make these changes.
